A Little About Me
How did I get here: I have worn many hats in my career. I have been a designer, a business owner and an artist. Art has always remained at the forefront of what I do, but an opportunity presented itself that changed everything. During a downturn in the economy, I had to make a decision. That decision changed me forever and led me to pitch a program to a school to teach young people between 4th through 8th grade how to design, animate and make films. I became a teacher and I loved it. Not only did I teach them. I taught them the same curricula that I taught my college students and they thrived.
My Drive: I had no idea that I would love teaching, but I began to teach people and found that it was among the most rewarding things I'd ever done. To watch a person pick up a concept and really find their place in this world was addicting. To see a person's life change because of what you taught them to do is one of the greatest feelings I've ever felt.
What I have to offer: My edge as learning designer comes from many places. Not only do I have many years experience teaching in a classroom environment getting constant live feedback, I am a graphic designer, an artist, and problem solver. The skills I have learned and acquired over the years have given me a perspective to see things in ways that others don't.
The fun: When I'm not working, I spend time with my family. I love hiking, camping, being in the ocean and creating artwork. Mainly just living life to the fullest.
